Johan van der Walt is a program associate with the Mercatus Center at George Mason University working with the Global Prosperity Initiative. His responsibilities include assisting the program management, doing research for Enterprise Africa!, and marketing the ideas and research of the programs. He is also a current participant in the Koch Associates Program. 

Mr. van der Walt graduated from The University of Texas at Austin this past May with a degree in Government, History, and Plan I Liberal Arts Honors and a minor in Economics.
