Mercatus Center at George Mason University will host Professor Morris Kleiner to discuss the material from his latest book, Licensing Occupations: Ensuring Quality or Restricting Competition? 

This month marks the 50th anniversary of Ronald Coase’s seminal article, The Federal Communications Commission. Coase’s critique of the political allocation of radio spectrum, and his arguments for achieving efficient allocation by allowing the government to sell rights to the spectrum, has had a profound effect on the course of communications policy.

Senior Research Fellows Jerry Brito and Veronique de Rugy, will delve into the phenomena and consequences of the period of time between presidential administrations when a flurry of regulatory activity takes place also know as "midnight regulations."
