David Bieler is an alumnus of the Mercatus Center MA Fellowship in the Regulatory Studies Program. Prior to coming to George Mason, he studied electrical engineering at Penn State and served as an acquisitions officer in the Air Force. It was during this latter experience that he developed an interest in policy and economics.

Currently, David is an analyst at the Government Accountability Office where he has worked on reports related to visa security, transportation security, and natural resource and environment issues.
