David B. Skarbek is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Economy at King's College London. Prior to this, he was the Searle Visiting Assistant Professor of Political Science at Duke University.

His research interests include the economics of criminal enterprises, street and prison gangs, and the impact of regulation and entrepreneurship in post-disaster markets.

He has been published in the Review of Austrian Economics, Journal of Law, Economics, and Organization, and Journal of Labor Research, among others.
