Derek Thieme

Derek Thieme grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana and received his Bachelors of Arts in economics from Carthage College in 2009. In 2013 he received his Masters of Arts in economics from George Mason University through the Mercatus MA Fellowship. During the summer of 2012 he served as a research associate with the Banking and Insurance Division of the Congressional Research Service, and he currently works as an economic research assistant with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. His research focuses primarily on the effects of regulation and government intervention on commerce and financial services.
