Jeffrey Milyo is the Middlebush Professor of Social Science and a Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Missouri at Columbia. He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and received his Ph.D. from Stanford University. Dr. Milyo has held faculty positions at the University of Chicago and Tufts University; and has been a visiting scholar at MIT, Stanford University, Washington University and Yale University. His areas of expertise include campaign finance and elections, media studies, health policy, sentencing policy and economic regulation; his research has been published in a variety of leading scholarly journals, including the American Economic Review, the American Journal of Public Health, the Journal of Human Resources, the Journal of Law and Economics, the Journal of Politics, and the Quarterly Journal of Economics. Dr. Milyo’s research has also been cited in major news outlets, such as Business Week, CNN, Fox News, Investor’s Business Daily, MSNBC, the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Post.
