Jeffrey Krilla, J.D.
Mr. Krilla is a principal at Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP and a member of the firm’s Public Law & Policy Strategies Practice. He has extensive experience in matters of foreign policy, including trade, development and human rights.
Mr. Krilla previously served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. In this role, he oversaw the bureau’s activities relating to promotion of democracy and human rights in Africa and Europe. He also led its corporate social responsibility efforts and oversaw the Office of International Labor Affairs and Corporate Social Responsibility, which contributed to democracy building and generating respect for internationally recognized worker rights globally. He also led the U.S. Department of State’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy and programs.
Prior to his service in the U.S. government, Mr. Krilla served as Regional Director for Africa for the International Republican Institute (IRI) chaired by Sen. John McCain, where he oversaw and coordinated programs and election observations in numerous African countries.
Mr. Krilla holds a master's degree in government administration from the University of Pennsylvania and a juris doctorate from the Georgetown University Law Center. He serves as an Intelligence Officer in the Navy Reserves.
