Lydia Mashburn is the program manager for the Financial Markets Working Group for the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Ms. Mashburn served as the policy director for the House Subcommittee on Domestic Monetary Policy and Technology under the chairmanship of Congressman Ron Paul. Prior to that, she worked as a researcher for the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress where she provided economic analysis of legislation before both chambers of Congress. Her areas of policy focus include monetary policy, currency and banking regimes, the Federal Reserve, financial markets, federal debt, and health care. While on Capitol Hill, Ms. Mashburn dealt extensively with both the Affordable Care Act and the Dodd-Frank Act.
Ms. Mashburn received her BA in economics from the College of William and Mary.
