Politics as a Peculiar Business Preface

This is the Preface to the preliminary draft of my eight-chapter book, Politics as a Peculiar Business: Public Choice in a System of Entangled Political Economy. The Preface undertakes two tasks. First, it explains primary differences between the framework this book adopts and that adopted by most other work in public choice an political economy. Those differences revolve mainly around my joint embrace of systems theory in conjunction with ecological or non-equilibrium modeling where polity and economy are entangled and not distinct entities. Second, it sets forth the logic of the book’s development by sketching the topics each of the eight chapters treats, finishing with an extended table of contents.
