Carola Binder is associate professor of civic leadership and economics at UT Austin and a senior affiliated scholar at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. Her research focuses on monetary policy, inflation, and central bank communication. She has published widely in academic journals and is the author of Shock Values: Prices and Inflation in American Democracy and has published papers in academic journals, including The Journal of Monetary Economics, Economic Inquiry, and The Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking. Binder received her PhD from UC-Berkeley.
