Luke Sheahan

Luke Sheahan is a visiting fellow with the Mercatus Center’s Program on Pluralism and Civil Exchange. He is also an assistant professor of political science at Duquesne University and a non-resident scholar at the Program for Research on Religion and Urban Civil Society at the University of Pennsylvania  

Fellowship focus: 

• Monism vs pluralism or the theory that individuals view their political communities through a monist or pluralist lens 

• How these frameworks affect the public’s treatment of the First Amendment and Freedom of Association, that both conceptions engender
