Former Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Markus Bjoerkheim was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the Open Health Project at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University. His work focused on how policy influences healthcare markets, with a particular focus on nursing homes, Medicaid, and Certificate-of-Need.
His work has been featured in academic journals and publications including The Southern Economic Journal, The Oxford Review of Economic Policy, Regulation, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, The New York Times, and Reason. He has testified before state legislative committees across multiple states.
Dr. Bjoerkheim received his Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University, and his BS in Economics from James Madison University.
