Jonathan Beltran Alvarado is a PhD student in International & Comparative Education at Columbia University in the City of New York. He earned an MA in Economics & Education from Columbia University in the City of New York, as well as an MA in History and a BA in Philosophy and Literature from Xavierian Pontifical University. His research focuses on understanding the sources of educational inequalities and identifying the best mechanisms and policies to address them, especially regarding the institutional conditions that foster cooperation, effort, and peaceful school interactions between teachers and students.
