Lucas Garcez is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is also an MCIT student in Computer Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He earned an MS in Economics from the University of Delaware and an MS in Law & Economics, a BS in Social Sciences, and an LLB from the University of São Paulo. He was an Oskar Morgenstern Fellow during the 2022-2023 academic year and a Don Lavoie Fellow during the 2020-2021 academic year. His research interests include demographic economics, particularly the drivers of teenage fertility and the link between migration and crime.
