Rachel Fitzgerald is a PhD student in Education at Purdue University. They earned an MA in Hispanic Studies and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Their research focuses on the ethics of community care in global education and the extent to which U.S. higher education institutions have university-wide protocols or accountability measures that mandate ethical, reciprocal, mutually beneficial community engagement in teaching and research globally.
