Shakima "Kima" Tozay is a clinical social worker and military veteran with over 15 years of professional experience. Kima is a doctoral candidate currently pursuing a Doctor of Social Work degree in Organizational Leadership at the University of Alabama. Her research interests focus on maternal health equity, program evaluation, policy/advocacy, implementation science, and community engagement for systems change. She earned her B.A. in Interdisciplinary Arts & Sciences and Master of Social Work degrees from the University of Washington Tacoma. She is committed to practicing empathy, respect, and trauma-informed care in her work with individuals and communities. Kima has received four prestigious fellowships in policy and leadership, holds clinical licensure in Washington state, and is a board-certified case manager. She has also earned certifications in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Perinatal Mental Health. As a servant leader, her approach is deeply rooted in social justice and equity.
